Bio: My name is Mark Wilson and I'm from Fargo, North Dakota. I'm a senior majoring in Mathematics and Actuarial Science with a Management minor. I spend my time serving as President of the Actuary Club here at the U and working part-time at Allianz Life as an Actuarial Assistant. Aaron Kern

Picture
Bio: My name is Aaron Kern, I’m from Wadena, MN a small town in northern Minnesota. I was attracted to the big cities by the U of M’s engineering program. I will be entering my third year of electrical engineering this fall and look forward to the upcoming challenges that I will come across in the upper level classes. In my spare time I enjoy playing any and all kinds of competitive sports including basketball, football, tennis, and various yard games. I also enjoy meeting new people, travelling and hunting. In October I will be taking my first elk hunting trip to Colorado with my brothers to hopefully find a big bull. This upcoming fall I will be taking a large role in recruitment and am very excited to meet a lot of new driven, energetic young gentlemen. I chose this role because I don’t want anyone of these men to miss out on the opportunity that I was presented my freshman year. Lifelong friendships, everlasting memories, one of a kind experience and newfound confidence that will help push me to reach the many goals I have in the future.

Brian Zemaitis

Picture
Bio: Brian is from the Boston area.  He can often be seen daydreaming on the roof of FIJI gazing east towards Africa where he will one day put his knowledge of geology and geophysics to use and exploit all its fossil fuels.  In the meantime he enjoys a plethora of activities ranging from trying to dominate the Regional New England Life Guard tournaments on a summerly basis, road tripping, boxing, staring at his collection of baseball trophies, then staring at his mangled arm, then teaching youngsters all there is to know about chucking 90 mph 4 seam fastballs down the pipe.  He is a proponent of keeping youth off chewing tobacco, he is a recreational skydiver, President and Founder of the EAC, also known as the MEGA-M club; welcomes all geologists and geophysicists.  One of his best decisions in life was joining FIJI after transferring from Sacred Heart University in Ct.  The friendships that have resulted from FIJI will last a lifetime.

Paul Begich

Bio: My name is Paul Begich and I'm from Stillwater, MN. I'm a junior majoring in Marketing and Communications with the hopes of utilizing these skills post graduation in the field of health and wellness; specifically CrossFit. CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program with the aims of achieving increased overall fitness. CrossFit defines fitness as an increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains. I was first introduced to CrossFit by one of the brothers of Phi Gamma Delta and am ever so grateful. FIJI has had a profound impact on my life and I will cherish every memory made here with my brothers for the rest of my life.

Ryan Govier

Picture
Bio: Being from Madison area, I came to school excited to make new friends and enjoy the experiences the twin cities have to offer. Instead I found a family, a group of individuals who in any circumstance I can rely on for support or celebrate any achievement.  Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality, and Excellences are the values that have propelled me to achieve such goals as the dean’s list and a highly acclaimed Center for Homicide Research internship.  Some of the extra-curricular activities I have participated in have been Welcome Week, Undergraduate Intra-Fraternity Institute for future leaders, and scheduled to become an ESL math tutor this fall.  Within Fiji, I have held the positions of Scholarship chair, House Manager, Publications chair and Brotherhood chair.  I have been responsible in the past for designing a website, maintaining both a Facebook and twitter account, maintenance of a 100 year old house, designing and executing a 50 person scholarship plan, organizing a mother-son prom, and achieving top grades spring 2011.  Outside of the formal part of the fraternity, the brothers know me as Grover, cape wearing, fun-loving, Sesame Street character.
